The story of Kwezi Coffee begins on their father’s farm, where Barbara and Pamella learned the balance of farm management, coffee sales, and environmental care from their parents. Inspired by their father’s belief in women as equal decision-makers and their mother’s skill in running the farm, they grew up with a vision of empowerment.
After pursuing studies in Business Management and IT, and gaining experience in the coffee sector, the sisters launched Kwezi Coffee to carry that vision forward. Today, they lead as second-generation women in coffee, creating space for others to rise. Their work connects the dedication of countless women in Uganda’s coffee fields with roasters and drinkers worldwide, ensuring the effort and expertise of women farmers are recognised and rewarded.
